Design Role: Graphic Design
As the graphic design intern at OGI Eyewear for 6 months, I had designed and created over hundreds of promotional and marketing materials for all 7 unique brands under the Minnesota-based independent eyewear company. Below I will introduce more about my works with OGI Eyewear in 3 main areas: Branding, Digital/Social Media Designs, and Print Designs!
Branding
The most creative and diverse skillset I have improved and utilized with this role is the branding! When it comes to branding OGI Eyewear, there are 7 unique and stylish brands that requires the designer to constantly understand and visualize them individually. From the colorful and almost funky OGI to luxurious Seraphin, or the modern chic Red Rose. All these brands have their own storytelling and personalities that attract different audiences.
It is my job to deeply understand these brands in order to design the marketing materials for the targeted market, and to be able to switch between the styles seamlessly and efficiently. The examples below are some of the leave behinds I have created for six of the brands, as they showcase the detailed and specific differences between all of them side by side, from colors and imageries to fonts and compositions.

The other most important branding design I have done is to refine and recraft the OGI Brand guideline 2024, including a brand-new color palette and updated stylings. Collaborating closely with the Chief Creative Officer David, and the Marketing Director Katja, I have designed a color palette and design guide that match the current trend/style of their launch of the 2024 spring campaign.

Digital/Social Media Designs
Digital and social media marketing is an essential part of OGI Eyewear. In order to capture the attention of costumers, an active and engaging online presence is always required. Throughout the 6 months internship, I have created all kinds of materials such as Instagram posts, Eblasts, EMagazine ad pages, Magazine website banners, and more. I have also managed both Red Rose and Seraphin/Seraphin Shimmer's Instagram accounts, including creating posts, stories, and engaging with followers. At the end of my internship, I have also designed a Red Rose social media guide for new incoming designers.
The challenge is to be creative while being on brand depends on the event/brand. I have designed all of them based on the targeted audience and the specific occasion, but also add in sparkles of my creativity. Such as the OGI Valentine's Day display competition designs below (on the left), I have created this heart shape echo-effect illustration to be eye-catching and appealing. With most of these designs I also need to create multiple versions for various platforms, so I maintain the main element and style across them while reorganizing the layouts to better suit the information needed.
I have also created numbers of videos upon requests from clients as shown below. There are Instagram Reels featuring myself or other team members trying on new styles, or informational presentations for sponsor meetings. Although video editing is not my strongest suit, I have learned and adapted along the process quickly and efficiently and went above and beyond my original expected responsibilities.

Print Designs
Besides digital designs, print designs are also critical to the marketing success. There are even more varieties of designs that I have created because of the demand, including but not limited to multiple magazines' ad pages, lookbooks, sell sheets, flyers, postcards, pillowcase banners, retail stores' displays, business cards, commercial merch, and more.
Print designs require following strict rules and guidelines, because of the expensive cost and also different printer requirements. As an in-house designer, my role is to precisely and carefully follow the chief creative officer's visions and directions, while designing them efficiently because of the large amounts of designs needed.
I have achieved all these requirements by always planning ahead of which tasks to prioritize, and which designs need more time than the others. As it could be stressful and spinning sometimes, I have also adapted to listen and learn from feedback quickly and understand that my personal style/aesthetic should not intervene with the bigger picture (what the client or marketing department demands speicifically).
